Sunday, August 27, 2006 ( Japan @ 3:09 pm ) why? because out of the 255 844 wallets reported lost in Tokyo, 194 139 were handed to the authorities. and out of 100 247 cell phones lost, 95 000 were returned. can you imagine this scenario in singapore, where people have to lose practically all hope if they misplaced their handphone or lose it. take me for example. my mother borrowed my phone to allow my brother to have a communication device just in case he was lost, and guess what, my mother rushed off after buying her stuff, and didn't realise that my phone had dropped from my brother's pocket. haha. imagine. i was sooo mad at that time, and after ranting at my mother and my brother, my bad, i started ranting at the locals' inconsideration. hey, what was i to do? my mother went back to search for it after a while and it was gone!!! and my friend lost her phone in a taxi , and nobody, nobody returned it. wow! was i surprised? not particularly, but i was still as disappointed as the last time i lost my own phone. for me, i hope Japan will always remain like this. for us, i only hope that someday we will be able to claim the same thing. ps. if i had found any lost items, be it important or not, i would have taken it to the police. and i can say this and mean it, because i know that this is something i will definitely do. 3xeunt. 0 comments |
