not wanting to believe it, i took out my silver necklace to try out someone's method of scouring on the hand to determine how many children that friend will have.

so using this method, i found out she will have two.

another friend once mocked me of this method. after i tried it out on an entire table of my friends, the next day, he took my necklace from me and moved it above the table, and declared that it worked on a table and therefore my method did not work. i realised at that point in time how insensitive that friend was, and how he in making his point did not mind humiliating other people. apparently, that was the first time people at that table had seen me angry and in my anger, silent.

my first friend later went to a fortune teller in india. i do not know how reliable the fortune tellers there were, but they have been around for ages, so one would think that they work in a way. my friend showed him her palm, and the fortune teller told her that she will have two children.

she relayed that message to me. i jokingly believed that yes, the method i used worked, but secretly, i was just happy that she will be around for that much longer. and to me, that was the most important thing of all.
